Shared Services
Knowledge
Pramerica's highly skilled staff has the knowledge, intellectual capability, experience and diversity to produce a broad spectrum of technology and support services to our business partners. The growth of our knowledge base is a direct result of our sourcing power. We have successfully recruited a highly qualified staff with a significant depth and breadth of skills, technologies and experience.

Recruitment has been a critical activity that we have consistently delivered on. Headcount increased to 660 employees at the end of December 2009 since the company set-up in July 2000. Our skill set has completely diversified since 2000, from recruiting mainframe resources at that point to recruiting web-based and financial analysis resources in more recent times.

Partnering with local educational organizations has leveraged our success in growing our knowledge base. Graduate hiring has accounted for an average of 27 percent of total annual hires.

Recruitment is not exclusively external sourcing. It has been equally important to utilize our internal talent pool. Our dedicated recruitment function carefully manages internal and external sourcing. The function is enhanced by an effective recruitment process, competency-based interviewing and an automated talent manager tool. This tool is an on-line recruitment solution providing resource managers with real time access to applicants.

Partnership
Pramerica recognizes that our growth is directly related to the ongoing development of our employees coupled with our ability to grow our knowledge base. That is why learning and career development are key business objectives.

Partnering with local educational organizations has leveraged our success in growing our knowledge base. In particular, we have benefited from rewarding partnerships with the Irish National Training and Employment Authority FAS) and the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT). These local organizations have responded to our skills requirements and produced fine graduates and valuable employees

FAS has customized a unique client server and mainframe program preparing students for Pramerica’s software development and quality assurance testing organization. This is a very successful partnership and has produced over 90 new hires to date.

More recently, FAS developed an IT Access Support program preparing students for Pramerica’s Operations and Call Center organization and has produced approximately 20 new hires since 2007.

LYIT has developed a postgraduate program in conjunction with Pramerica. This program, a Higher Diploma in Financial Services, provides students with specialized knowledge in the use of mainframe legacy systems in a financial services environment. This specialized program has produced 17 new hires to date.

The partnership with LYIT has also supported internal career progression. The college developed specific programs where employees can complete higher certificate and ordinary degree programs in IT and financial services. These programs also offer excellent flexibility for staff to study around their working day.

Innovation
Pramerica Corporate Technology Management has managed some of the most innovative technological projects in Ireland over the last 10 years. From VoIP to virtualisation, Pramerica's internal technology group has delivered a number of firsts for the organisation, including our connection on the regional metro area networks and leveraging VoIP to support 185 employees who have a work-at-home arrangement. The investment in technology has ensured increased performance, enhanced system availability and better mobility for the entire organisation.
