"The Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards programme recognises and rewards post-primary/second-level
students for volunteer work carried out in their communities, through an exciting initiative that
provides recognition and generous financial rewards to the finalists.
This programme has been running successfully for 16 years.
The Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards were introduced in 2006 on an All-Ireland basis,
in partnership with the National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals (NAPD)
and the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI).
The Spirit of Community Awards give you the opportunity to acknowledge deserving students,
inspire young people to get involved in community service activities,
and attract widespread recognition for your school."
- Henry McGarvey, Managing Director, Pramerica
What Rewards can young people achieve?
Nominees have the opportunity to receive €1,000 for their preferred charity and a trip to Washington and terrific recognition for their school.
Each nominee will receive a Certificate of Merit. The national judging panel will then select 20 finalists from all nominees.
These 20 finalists will be awarded a Silver Medallion, €500 and an invitation to the Gala Awards dinner. At this event, two All-Ireland Youth Volunteers of the Year will be named, each of whom will receive €1,000 for their chosen charity, a crystal trophy for their school and a trip to the United States.
